The Amalgamated World is the primary setting of the With This Ring series, a multiverse that merges together countless realities from books, television, and film. It is a universe where characters, creatures, and mythologies from vastly different origins coexist under one sky. The presence of both Harry Potter’s wizarding world and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is only the beginning. Vampires walk the same streets as werewolves, gods share the same realms as superheroes, and witches practice their craft alongside alien science.

This strange fusion exists because of the Creator, an omnipotent being responsible for the birth of the universe. Growing bored with the monotony of individual timelines, the Creator decided to take the most imaginative parallel realities and fold them into one. What began as an act of amusement became a chaotic but vibrant universe, where wixens, gods, and celestial entities all live side by side.

Classification of Beings

Celestials

Celestials are divine or infernal beings, existing outside the mortal cycle of life and death. They embody higher cosmic forces and are often revered, feared, or both.

  • Angels
  • Gods
  • Demons

Ephemerals

Ephemerals are mortal beings bound by the natural cycle of birth, growth, and death. Though some may live exceptionally long lives, they are not truly immortal.

  • Humans
  • Witches
  • Werewolves
  • Dwarves

Perennials

Perennials are immortal creatures who do not age or die by natural means. They can live indefinitely unless slain, destroyed, or stripped of their power.

  • Vampires
  • Demigods
  • Immortals of cultivation traditions and Highlander-style immortality
  • Fairies
  • Elves
  • Unicorns

Coexistence of Species

The coexistence of Celestials, Perennials, and Ephemerals is fragile, shaped by centuries of uneasy truces and cultural separation. For the most part, each group chooses to ignore the others and remain within its own sphere of influence. Conflict is not uncommon, however. Some wars have erupted over territory, faith, or dominance, the most infamous being the endless feud between vampires and werewolves.

One of the lesser-known but most vital roles of the angels is to act as referees among the various beings. Angels intervene when disputes threaten to escalate into destruction that could unravel the balance of the Amalgamated World. Their presence serves as a reminder that while chaos may reign, order always watches from above.
