Enchanted Engines
A motorcycle repair and custom bike shop owned by Kendis Black.
About
Enchanted Engines is a motorcycle repair and custom bike shop owned by Kendis Black. Contrary to what her friends and family believe, Kendis wasn’t the one who came up with the name—the shop’s original owner and her mentor, Consuelo Maynard, chose it.
Kendis worked under Consuelo for about a year and a half before Consuelo suffered a mild heart attack and decided it was time to retire. When he stepped down, Kendis bought the shop and later expanded it by purchasing the property next door. She built her home right on the land, turning it into a fenced-in compound that includes both her house and the original garage.
Working with Kendis are her friend Isiah Cups, occasional helper Richie Ryan, and her business partner and office manager, Hortense Cooper. Together, they’ve kept Enchanted Engines running as a place where craftsmanship, community, and a little bit of magic meet.
