Busy In The Month of October

I don’t even know what word count I’m on right now! I know it’s passed the 30,000 mark but I’m still here because this goddamn story REFUSES TO STOP GROWING! When I had this strange little idea in my head I never thought that two months later I would be here.

And I wanted to change it for the world. 2024 has been horrible for me but the love story of Tony and Kendis is the one thing that is keeping me going. And it’s weird because I’m so far ahead writing-wise (I just submitted chapters 7-10 to my betas).

I think it’s time for me to take a tangent and tell you my writing process. I have an idea and then I develop that idea. Then I create the cover for it. The first thing I will ever do is do a cover. I was a professional graphic designer for years and I need a visual token for me to go back to.

Then I write out the blurb (or in this case the summary) and then I write a three act breakdown. Then I will write chapter to chapter outlines.

With This Ring Notion

Now there have been some differences with this particular project compared to my original books. I have a very short, very loose outline of the major beats of this story. And then I just write from chapter to chapter: no outline at all.

This story can and has taken a few detours and I only have a very vague idea on how it ends. As for the rest? I will write a bulk of first draft chapters and then when I’m done I’ll re-rewrite those chapters. Just to note here: I will never be the type of writer that will write a first draft and post it. Nothing against you if you do, but I personally can’t do that even with fanfic.

I will write rough drafts/first drafts in batches and then once I’m done go back and rewrite those chapters until I’m done with the story. I have the rough drafts of 1-23 plus asides already done, I just have to rewrite them and proofread them.

Once I’m done, I upload them to the google folder I share with my betas. I have a content calendar on Google Calendar that I will actually share here that tells me when to post. And that’s how write this story.

I know it’s complicated but my ADHD and autism brain works in mysterious ways. I have episodes scheduled until the end of the year. I know most people think that this is extra but you are currently reading this on a website I built for a fanfic series I am writing for free.

By the way, this month is my birthday Month and as a birthday present, I commissioned one of my favorite artists Dania Sang to make a gorgeous illustration of Tony and Kendis together. I actually have this printed in multiple sizes and it’s framed on my wall. I adore it so much!
