Happy Milestones!

This series started as a hyperfixation. For a while there I could only think about Tony and Kendis. It had gotten so bad at one time that I would dream about two morons. And with the ‘With This Ring’ series, particularly ‘The Temporary Spouse’, took over my entire life for a month. I wrote 30,000 words in a month and a half.

I think I used this series as a coping mechanism for my declining personal life. The love these two had for each other even from the jump and the possibilities to fix everything that was wrong with Marvel and Harry Potter was too great. Also, as I said before, I am the pettiest person that ever lived. And I really put my foot down after J.K. Rowling went after Imane Khelif.

For the first time, J.K. Rowling was going to get some real world consequences for what she had done. It really lit a fire under my ass and I wanted to take her precious Harry Potter and make her everything that she clearly hated. It was obvious that the reason J.K. Rowling went after Imane was because she was an athletic Black woman who didn’t meet her precious European beauty standards.

For me it wasn’t good enough to piss J.K. Rowling off but to use my petty for good and so I decided to use my platform (and hers) to uplift trans people as much as I could by boosting trans charities and Go Fund Mes.

And a month and thirty-six thousand words later, I will admit that I am having a blast. I have fallen in love with my version of Tony and Harry Potter. I love how Kendis and Tony love each other and I have plans for this series that stretches years. I finally tailed up the amount of chapters I have planned for The Temporary Spouse and (with the interludes included) it’s going to be 38 chapters in all. I updated the ao3 with the final count and I was staggered at how much I have written.

When it comes to rough drafts, I have only seven or eight chapters left to write. That’s crazy, that I wrote a whole book in two months and yes, I do count writing fanfiction as literature and fic as books. We can totally have a conversation about how Fanfiction is literature and all that.

Let me get back to the point. This series has taken over my life in the best ways and I’m having so much fun. I know that no one will probably read my blog posts, or check out my website for this series. And I’m okay with that. I’m having so much fun and this is only the beginning! I have already begun plotting the next story in the series called ‘The Perilous Husband’. I am not going to tell you too much because of spoilers but that story follows the Iron Man 1 storyline.

It’s going to have a lot of twists and turns but I promise you Kendis and Tony will come out of it stronger than ever.
