The Perilous Husband Returns on June 11th!

Trigger Warning: Grief, Death of a Parent.

It has been a while since I have done my last blog post. I have been pretty busy since The Temporary Spouse ended in March. The biggest thing that happened to me is that my stepfather died on February 28th, and for the last few months, I have been dealing with the fallout. My mental health hasn’t been the greatest.

As a result, I stopped working for a while. If you follow me on Wattpad or Ao3, you will notice the uptick of asides. This is because writing this series is one of the few happy places I have in my life right now, and so I was trying to soothe the pain by writing about my favorite couple, Kendis and Tony, and their group of friends.

But the downside to that was that I wasn’t really doing my day job of being a romance author. If you don’t know, I write cozy and paranormal romances as Georgina Kiersten and Jasper Hyde. I primarily write in a serial format, which means, similar to how I do with fanfiction, I write my chapters episodically.

When my stepfather died, I had a whole buffer of episodes (usually 2 months of episodes) written and ready to go. But then I just stopped working, and I quickly went through my buffer. Most of April and the beginning of May, I have been busy just putting my head down and working to refill my chapter buffers. I just finished catching up with all of my serials, and so that gives me more time to come back to With This Ring.

Now let’s talk about The Perilous Husband. As I have said in almost every author note I have posted in the last two months, I wrote the asides 1) because they give me great joy and 2) as an apology for the shit show I am about to drop on you in the next major story in the series ‘The Perilous Husband.’

The Perilous Husband takes place throughout the first Iron Man movie, and we all know what happens to Tony in that movie. Now, add the fact that he is married during all that on top of the angst fest that movie was. It’s going to be a wild ride. I have 16 chapters already written, but they are rough drafts (because I always write in drafts, even with fanfic), and I have 28 chapters outlined.

I am going to start dropping chapters for The Perilous Husband here in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for that! I am pretty much done writing asides for now. But I will absolutely be posting news articles and such for The Perilous Husband because Kendis and Tony are out in the press, and I feel those articles give you a wider perspective on what’s going on. And besides, I enjoy writing them!

If you haven’t been reading the asides? You should, because a lot of the stuff that I will reference in The Perilous Husband is going to be from what happens in the asides, especially after The Apogee Awards.

And finally, the re-editing of Temporary Spouse. I stopped halfway through, and I really don’t have any motivation to finish right now. I am putting that on the back burner. I know that means you have to deal with inconsistencies and grammar fails, but right now, I would rather put my focus on The Perilous Husband.

And finally, just as I said in the title of this post! The Perilous Husband will return on June 11th, just in time for Pride Month! I did this on purpose because biphobia always comes hand in hand with Pride Month. As I really want to make sure I rub this fic in the nose of every biphobic asshole on the internet. I am doing this because I’m bisexual (biaroace to be exact) and I am doing this for great justice!
